Nerolina essential oil

Nerolina is the nerolidol-dominant chemotype of Melaleuca quinquenervia, characterised by (E)-nerolidol as its principal constituent (typically >48-70%), in contrast to the more common 1,8-cineole chemotypes; this profile gives the oil a soft, rosy-woody character quite distinct from niaouli. Nerolidol demonstrates broad antimicrobial activity against airborne bacteria and fungi, and additionally sensitises Staphylococcus aureus to multiple classes of antibiotics.[1]
